Prelude – “Upon the Cross Extended” Walther  – Melanie Manges, organ

Welcome to Worship – Harriet Coppoc

Lenten Song “I Come to the Cross” – Worship Team

I come to the cross seeking mercy and grace;
I come to the cross where you died in my place.
Out of my weakness and into your strength;
Humbly I come to the cross.

Call to Worship* – Harriet Coppoc

Before we were born,
Before we took our first breath,
Before the week started,
Before the year started,
Before we said, “I love you.” Before we said, “I’m sorry,”
Before we figured out who we really are,
Before we figured out who we want to be,
Before it all-
God loved us.
Unconditionally and freely,
Fully and honestly-
God loved us.
Again and again, this is where our story begins.
Let us worship God!

Hymn of Faith – “Love Divine, All Loves Excelling”

(Verse 1) Love divine, all loves excelling, Joy of heaven to earth come down,
Fix in us thy humble dwelling, all thy faithful mercies crown.
Jesus, thou art all compassion, pure, unbounded love thou art;
Visit us with thy salvation, enter every trembling heart.
(Verse 3) Come, almighty to deliver, let us all thy life receive;
Suddenly return, and never, nevermore thy temples leave.
Thee we woudl be always blessing, serve thee as thy hosts above;
Pray and praise thee without ceasing, glory in thy perfect love.

Lenten Song, Again – “I Come to the Cross” – Worship Team

I come to the cross seeking mercy and grace;
I come to the cross where you died in my place.
Out of my weakness and into your strength;
Humbly I come to the cross.
Your arms are open, you call me by name, you welcome this child that was lost.
You paid the price for my guilt and my shame;
Jesus, I come, Jesus, I come, Jesus, I come to the cross.

Hymn of Discipleship – “Wonderful Grace of Jesus”
*In the refrain, the men sing the part in regular print, and the women sing the part in italics

(Verse 1) Wonderful grace of Jesus, greater than all my sin;
How shall my tongue describe it, where shall its praise begin? Taking away my burden, setting my spirit free,
For the wonderful grace of Jesus reaches me.

(Refrain) Wonderful the matchless grace of Jesus (the matchless grace of Jesus),
Deeper than the mighty rolling sea (sea, the rolling sea),
Higher than the mountain, sparkling like a fountain, all sufficient grace for even me;
(Wonderful grace, all sufficient for me, for even me;)
Broader than the scope of my transgressions (transgressions, sing it!)
Greater far than all my sin and shame; (shame, my sin and shame;)
All: O magnify the precious name of Jesus, praise his name!

(Verse 3) Wonderful grace of Jesus, reaching the most defiled,
By its transforming power making me God’s dear child,
Purchasing peace and heaven for all eternity-
And the wonderful grace of Jesus reaches me.

(Refrain) Wonderful the matchless grace of Jesus (the matchless grace of Jesus),
Deeper than the mighty rolling sea (sea, the rolling sea),
Higher than the mountain, sparkling like a fountain, all sufficient grace for even me;
(Wonderful grace, all sufficient for me, for even me;)
Broader than the scope of my transgressions (transgressions, sing it!)
Greater far than all my sin and shame; (shame, my sin and shame;)
All: O magnify the precious name of Jesus, praise his name!

Pastoral Prayer & The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name,
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, in earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

Almighty God, giver of every good and perfect gift,
Teach us to give to you all that we have and all that we are,

But with our whole lives. Amen.
